With Lisas recent transfer to a not-yet-open birthing center, her job has shifted from pulling babies out of vaginas all day to primarily paperwork. This sudden lack of seeing random vagina has put her in some kind of withdrawal phase, which involves alot of moping and whining (more than usual). The situation will only gets worse as the center is not scheduled to open for at least two more months, and that length of time with no vagina may very well kill her. What can you do to help? If you own or have access to a vagina, please consider donating 5 minutes of it's time to Lisa. She'll measure it and and ask you a few questions, then you'll be on your way, but the benefit she'll receive is immeasurable. I thank you in advance for your time.

I don't have any free vaginas at the moment, but I do know some Canadians. That's close enough right?
MorlockPrime
HAHA +1 for Prime. When I talked to Lisa on AIM she was very adamant about working from home and was not to be disrupted, However she was still on AIM so I continued to bother her. Typical first time work from homers. Soon they will slack like everyone else.
Stavos
I couldn't get my vagina to donate time so I scheduled a sex change on monday so she can see mine.
Tim
Outies reversed to innies don't count... after all she is the vagina expert she knows a real one when she sees it.

(|) I've done my part: ASCII vagina.

Xbox 360 Fan Boy
Less than 2 years ago I remember visiting Whineyho to check out his new Xbox 360. At the time I was fully against console gaming since I had a perfectly good (and free) computer to play games on, but I was impressed nonetheless. Eventually I decided to get one to use the built-in media center extender. Of course that meant I had to get one for my other TVs, which lead to the 3 Xbox empire. Suddenly surrounded by the consoles, my practicality was quickly defeated as the games and accessories for the system increased exponentially. I'm now a full-on raging fanboy ranting to everyone about why they need one immediately, especially with the new experience launching soon. My neighbors $400 PS3 which he uses exclusively as a Blu-Ray player, along with my brief 2 week ownership of a Wii have convinced me it's the best of the next gen consoles, and true to fanboy operating principles, I defend it like a rabid dog when someone suggests otherwise. Soulja Boy agrees with me and he's obviously got my back, so to PS3 and Wii fanboys, I say bring it.
User Comments for 10-27-2008:
Oddly enough I own both a Wii and PS3. I don't think i've played enough 360 to compare but I'm pretty happy with both the WII and the PS3. Also, I haven't had to buy any add-ons or anything like that for either the Wii or PS3. Eat it Fanboy!
MorlockPrime
Computer is still better, I Name noticed you didn't compare the 360 to a computer. Can't beat the Mouse/keyboard combo in FPS and RTS. However console games are great for racing that's about it.
Stavos
I would concur for the most part there Stavos. Hands down I'd sooner play those with a keyboard and mouse. If only I wasn't so lazy.
MorlockPrime
I guess the best benefit of console gaming is when you buy a game you know it will look and run how the wanted it to. Not like PC hoping it will run. Or needing one serious rig to get the full look of a game "ala crysis"
R1OT
Crysis looked and ran fine on my computer. Yet nothing like Crysis has been developed for PS3 or Xbox, guess you what to wait for PS4 or Xbox 3.0
Stavos
And how much money did you sink into that GFX card and processor? I think it was more then an Xbox360.
R1OT
I just got my 3rd 8800 gtx on ebay. By now I could have bought both a 360 and PS3, but they would have been way too ugly for the wife sitting on our multimedia cart. Meanwhile, my gaming PC sits inconspicuously in my office... and it's more compatible with pr0n.

keywords there: More+Compatible+porn. I think Duane just nailed this subject no pun intended.

Sentry LX The NZXT Sentry LX fan controller caught my eye a few weeks ago, and try as I might I could not resist the urge to buy one. My fan setup was more than sufficient, but the animated lights and almost 5 inch screen was too much temptation, not to mention the nerd factor which was off the charts. Today it finally arrived and after setting it up I'm convinced it was the right thing to do. Beyond the pretty factor, each fan cranks up according to what I'm doing, keeping the case almost totally silent when idle. Intense file decompression sessions have my HDD RAID fan max out at 2,000 rpm, while gaming gets the two closest to my CPU/Video card close to 1600 each. Other than that all 4 sit at the silent 1,000 speed until needed. I'd say it's saving energy with all this fancy automation, but I'm sure the ultra-bright monitor offsets any savings I could hope to realize. Score one for EternalOne, this is most likely an anti-hippie mod.
User Comments for 10-25-2008:
It's a shame it doesn't count for any achievement points.

Very cool mines in the mail. Also get's +10 geek points for the word "Sentry"

At least I don't have to fire up another computer to offset Brad's hippy-ness. :) It's Oct, freezing cold outside, and they are calling for snow. THERE THE FUCK IS MY GLOBAL WARMING?!?!??!

Lisas complaint about the cord on my mower the one time she mowed my yard was sufficient reason to upgrade to a cordless model. After selling my current model for $60 at my garage sale (which was still going strong 5 years later, contrary to previous predictions), I found a $200 cordless clearance model on Amazon. On arrival, the circuit board was damaged from shipping so I had to wait till lastnight for the replacement one. An hour later it was up and running and my first cut was a success. The battery meter still shows 3/4 charge, so I can easily get two mows per charge. It's definitely heavier than my corded model, probably due to the equivalent of 4 motorcycle batteries on board, but easier to get around and now Lisa approved. Hopefully this hippie mower will turn out to be just as dependable and effective as my last.
User Comments for 10-23-2008:
I jumped on the Electric mower band wagon last year after buying a craftsman that lasted 3 mows. I love my Toro electric.
Tim
Ironically Hippies don't use mowers, as it's a weapon of mass destruction to billions and billions of blades of grass. It's a dooms day machine!
Stavos
GRASS KILLERS!

MorlockPrime
I cover almost 3 acres on my lawn tractor. It comes in handy when sweeping/mulching leaves too. It gets about 80 mpg, so I'll be using it to commute to work when gas prices return to $5/gal. after the thaw. Good luck disposing those batteries in a year ;-)
Duane
And now Brad has a gas mower... How the hippies have fallen!

Frost Warning Today my frost warning light came on in my Cougar meaning the temperature was below 42 fahrenheit, and as it indicated the ground was covered in frost. The last time this light came on it kicked off 5 long months of freezing weather. With the Free Press promising snow this weekend now is a great time to move to Florida with Joseph.
User Comments for 10-22-2008:

I'm gonna cry!!! NO SNOW!!!!!!

OMG dude it snows 11 out of the 12 months in your country.
Stavos
Are you on drugs?? lol.. BTW, watch it now, I'm south of you and in fact, I'm more south than 1/3 of the US! So there! hahaha
Excelcier
Seriously there's always snow somewhere in your country can't argue that! and Yes I know about the whole South of Detroit thing. currently your North of me because I don't live in the city of Detroit
Stavos
What the hell's wrong with Canadians that live in Windsor. Windsor is south of Detroit. Windsor is not SOUTH of Farmington Hills or Redford. Southeast perhaps, but not south. Don't they sell maps at the gas stations over there aye?
MorlockPrime
And it's MOSTLY EAST at that you ass clowns!

It's true R10T. Sometimes in my haste I make mistakes. Like moving back to a state that is next to Canada. What the hell was I thinking?
MorlockPrime
At least in Ohio I have no direct connection to Canada. Either go over through New York or...*gasp* Michigan.
R1OT
True, however, if all the snow (of which there are mountains of it) in canada ever melts, you're sure to be destroyed due to the flatness of your land and the water's inevitable down / south heading.
MorlockPrime
Only the west side will be flooded since you Michganders assume that all of Ohio is flat.
R1OT
And leveled with cement. Can't forget that either. W00t michigan is a island!

Canadian Rock Band Not satisfied with infecting unsuspecting Michiganders, it was time to move my Rock Band addiction machine south (yes, south) to Windsor for some Canadian action, eh. What was scheduled to be a relaxing sleepover at Melindas house (with occasional girl-on-girl action) turned into a 10 hour Rock Band marathon fully hooking Ron on drums, Jenny on vocals, and Melinda/Adriano/Lisa on Guitar. I operated as a substitute when someone needed hydration or muscle relaxant. While my achievement points per minute rating was lower than I had hoped, the successful hooking of all involved assured additional sessions to further increase them. Normally I'd include photos but my boycott of Facebook prevents it.
User Comments for 10-18-2008:
That's because Canadians simply can't do anything right. How ever heard of a Canadian rock group? Don't even mention Rush, that was a gathering not a band.
Stavos
Dude.. you took pics.. now post them on your webpage biatch! It's not Facebook :-) And yes, Rush ROCKS my US friends! HAHAHAHAHA

I here a lot of Rush songs on the Arena Rock and Classic Rock channels on Comcast cable.

IPv6 IPv6 was created to save us from the Chinese and give us a much cooler address schema. Unfortunately, hardly anyone can access the two IPv6 websites available thanks to un-american ISPs, so it looks like IPv4 will be around for some time still. This makes today an excellent opportunity to buy up the expired/unused IPv4 addresses and hold them for ransom in the coming address war. The WhatIsMyV6 website is a great way to determine if you'll survive the Chinese attack or not. I'm currently headed for prisoner of war, but I'm curious if ANYONE reading this has IPv6 connectivity at all. If you can click this link and NOT get a "Server not Found" please post below excitedly and include your address so I know where to draw my emergency bunker directions to.

I can see it! w00t it somewhat resembles a 3D zombo.com. Who knew Zombocom was the future!

Being owner of several class-C v4 blocks (400+ unique addresses), I can easily explain the "whys" of this. 1) The U.S. owns and uses a majority of the v4 addresses allocated. Switching here is exponentially more difficult than somewhere like Japan. 2) IPv4-IPv6 NAT gateways have made an immediate change unnecessary for interoperation. 3) There's simply no need. NAT, PAT, and the other address translations have mitigated the immediate threat of running out of addresses. ARIN has clamped down on delegating blocks, but it's still trivial to get them. Will it happen? Sure, eventually, but like the venerable SMTP it would probably have to happen in the US relatively quickly and at the same time. Look how well that's worked for SMTP, which DOES have an immediate need (Spam).

Achievement Unlocked After finding the 13 Xbox 360 games with the easiest achievements available, I promptly rented three of them for some achievement overload. As mentioned previously the points do nothing but boost your nerd status, of which I felt mine was in need of boosting. The Avatar game was just as easy as the video promised, boosting me up a full 1,000 points in 1 minute, giving me shivers. Fortunately Stavos came over to not only clear the cobweb from my Gnome Cam, but also to help me beat "Big Game Hunter" which started to devolve us both into toothless drunk rednecks. I'm still working on my third game, "Jumper", which seems to randomly hand out achievements, which is in line with the game genre of "button masher." In the end I should be close to 3,000 points cooler and on my way to nerdvana.

Today was another open track day at Waterford Hills. This time I brought my new Aiptek 1080P Cam corder for some in-car video, and uploaded my second session both before and after my redneck camera mount got loose and fell over. As you can see, the camera has no image stabilization whatsoever, so it's only slightly improved from my last attempt at in car video. Between my first and second session, while I was watching the course, I heard the sickening sound of crunching plastic and metal and ran over to find a Neon had hit the grass and swerved into a wall. The damage was pretty major having hit the wall doing close to 50, even buckling the roof. Apparently accidents are common at open track days, but this being the first one I witnessed I made myself useful running around like an excited idiot until I got a hold of a broom to help clean up the debris.
User Comments for 10-12-2008:
The guy in the stripped shirt in the "buckling the roof" picture is Randy Shaw, former Spec Neon and current Spec Miata driver. He usually runs his orange Lotus at open track days and is a good, but aggressive driver.
