Here is my second run of the day, along with the
photos. Enorym and I met Reptar at the event, who had AutoX'd before. I managed a 49.8 time, which wasn't all that bad. Hopefully SCCA will have the results up on their website and I can see how I did overall.
This morning I woke up to find a dead squirrel on the road in front of my house. I'll probably go to hell for it, but I took the following picture before I scooped him up and put him in a nearby woods.
Yep, I'm a sicko.
Tonight
Enorym and I installed my rear sway bar and swapped to my 225 size tires in preperation for my AutoX event Sunday. Thanks to a well done
how-to, it was pretty straightforward. It is definitely one of the most over-engineered parts I've ever put on my car. Supposedly it was designed for the never-realized Cougar S (ST200 in Europe). It even has Ford part numbers on it. Too bad they cancelled it, with this kind of engineering on the strut bar, I can imagine the whole car would've been awesome.
Now I know Michigan is out to get me. My AutoX event is this coming weekend, and it will be snowing all week, preventing me from installing my rear sway bar. Quoting InternetMenace: "come on now!" On the plus side, I drove into work only to find I forgot to unlock my door for the contractors, which involved another trip home and back to work. The whole time my speedometer said 70 but in reality I was probably going 30. I discovered the reason my truck is so good in the snow, one rear tire gets all the power and my other one helps keep me from fishtailing. A disadvantage in some situations, but for me, it means I can floor it and get up to speed relatively quickly without losing my rear end.

Since my floors are being redone from the water damage, there is heavy electrical equipment being used. As a result, the gnome cam has some interesting photos from the electrical interference

Recently, our team at work moved to a new building. Consequently, I got a
new desk next to the window. I like it.
After reading a recent
post from a fellow Cougar owner, I decided I'm going to give AutoX a shot. The
Detroit SCCA is holding an event April 13th and I plan to participate. I also plan on getting my butt kicked, but there's a possibility I might not place last. I love watching rally, and have been to the track where my
friend races a few times so I figure it's time to try it out for myself.
