Shortly after Google Power gave me the finger, my electric utility decided to blow some sunshine up my butt and give me a new advanced electric meter. Now both the government/secret nefarious agencies and myself will soon have access to my energy usage thanks to the upcoming SmartCurrent program. While so far I've only used the information to make kickass LAN party power usage graphs, I like to think that one day I'll actually use it in a more productive manner.
Not satisfied with just benchmarking my computer, I discovered a new way to compare mobile devices with my friends across platforms and operating systems. Enter Browsermark, which runs a group of performance tests that determine how fast you can run javascript. Clearly the speed of javascript parsing is enough to determine the worth of a device (and therefore the person who owns the device) so I proudly display my 22201 result and await confirmation I'm not as skilled in javascript parsing as my peers.
With my looming office location change approaching fast (Oct 7th) I decided to have a math party and find out the financial damage. This doesn't take into
account the additional hours of my life spent in a car, but the increase isn't as bad as I thought. Hopefully a carpool kicks in and minimizes this even further.
My commute is 57 miles, one way. Quit yer bitchin. You get used to it. Duane
I just ignore anything Duane says about his drive. I'm convinced he has a helicopter or something. Only a sadist would make a drive like he claims to. MorlockPrime
With the Senator birthing a baby soon, his fear of pending isolation has become strong enough to prompt an out-of-cycle LAN party in his honor. Aside from occuring in August, the other notable event is that every attendee brought an Xbox 360 and we successfully supported 8 simultaneous players of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. This means the upcoming November LAN, which will of course be Battlefield 3 centered, can potentially take place on PC or Xbox. As I'm sure most of us will own copies on both systems it will be a tossup. The epic neighbor battle royale did not materialize, as the Senators neighbor and Robbie were not confrontational enough. Excelcier was disappointingly devoid of belches this time around, and the Morlock only made a brief teaser appearance. The 32" LCD Televisions also showed their toll on my electric consumption but made for an interesting size competition that allowed for several sexual innuendos.

It was a glorious end of a non-parent life. Stavos
If you have a motorcycle, and a baby that can't crawl yet, you have the perfect combination for inappropriate baby photos. Surprisingly Lisa agreed to this with me successfully hiding in the background to hold her. Should you find yourself in need of incriminating evidence to solicit money from me, save this for when she's 18 and suing for traumatic childhood reperations.

This is actually legal. Any child can ride on a motorcycle, no law staying age or height requirements. Stavos
I've actually been on RTM Mango for quite some time now, but a recent offhanded mention with no real interest behind it prompted me to prove my status as fully released Windows Phone 7.5. Two months ago I installed the developer preview and so far the only difference I can find in the RTM is the phone now says Windows 7.5 instead of WP7_5_Trial for the version. I'm absolutely thrilled to be running the latest of the 3rd most popular mobile OS with less than 10% market share. I look forward to the day when Mango officially releases to the public and it skyrockets to 11%.

I'm confused, how does this pertain to the iPhon5? Stavos
I did not feel the earthquake. A few people in Detroit and most of my east coast friends claimed they did, but apparently Livonia is impervious to such natural disasters. Despite my frequent trips to California I've never felt one there either. I'm beginning to think it's some elaborate hoax because I've yet to experience one. Enorym's theory of HAARP related testing is much more plausible as you can measure the output from that array with respect to the claimed earthquakes.
After concluding my ASUS G50V was merely an impulse buy I had no actual use for it, it was sent back to the eBay it came from. This left me with a spare 60GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD to benchmark on my primary system. While my Win7 performance index went from a 6.9 to a 7.2, the benchmark only noticed a 2 MB/s improvement. Amazingly my RAID still holds it's own against the current SSD drives. Should I make the mistake of buying another 60GB SSD I'll of course RAID them and undoubtedly beat the crap out of it.

But Bill Gates rates standard moving hdds as a max of 5.9 and only allows SSDs to get a higher rating on the win7 benchmark test. And whatever Job's says we do! Unless you own a mac, than we just drink the koolaid. Stavos
