Yesterday MSDN finally put the 64-bit Vista ISO back up for download, so like any good nerd I installed it tonight on my NEUTRON machine. Unlike Keith's experience, mine went off without a hitch, and I setup a Windows XP dual boot to boot. My last adventure in a 64-bit OS didn't yield spectacular results, particularly in the area of drivers, but to my surprise Vista automatically downloaded the few drivers it didn't have out of the box. Even my RAID was recognized without the need for a lame floppy disk. I'm keeping my XP partition in case I run into compatibility problems, but when I rebooted back into XP to make sure it worked, I felt a little sadness creep over me. Yes, they really made Vista that much more fun. On to the nerd stats: my system info window confirms I am indeed a 64-bit ub3r h@x0r. My experience index indicates that I am exactly .7 better than Keith. The experience index is a calculation of your total worth as a person, and your ranked place in society, 5.9 being the highest possible score. Want further details? You got it. Of course no install documentation is complete without a full frontal. I do like the Aero interface, it brings the clown from XP to a whole new level.  | The images are embedded for people with a 4.9 score or better. Those with a 4.8 or less have to click the links. BF2142 *worked* but the graphics were so shaky I had to give up and go back to XP. AtomicInternet |

| You wont notice a difference with MS Flight sim X in vista unless you have a direct X 10 video card. R10T you have MSFSX? i'm getting it for xmas we must fly together with Tim! Stavos |
 | Funny because true DX10 cards don't exist on the market yet. I have two reference cards on their way from Nvidia and ATI for testing, but even they are both only premilinary DX10 cards and do not fully support the new subset. E1 |

| If a video card wasnt dx10 compliant, then I dont see how they can use the dx10 compatible logo. Im more likely to go with the manufacturers on this. Stavos |
| I can display the DX10 logo myself, its all about being part of the program. The technology that DX10 cards require does not even exist yet, the specs were written on future growth. DX10 has stub functions for these very hardware register calls right now. (Remember, I do 3D programming and I'm "in" with MS/ATI/Nvidia -- I've been on the DX10 card waiting list for over a year now, because we require them before we can start our XNA port -- but they simply do not exist.)
