12-02-2003 New ASP.net Photo Engine

I've completed installing a new photo album engine, and finally got my photos added and organized. I considered creating my own album program, but this one does everything I need (and more) and is written in ASP.net, which I've been wanting to play around with for awhile now. The application is called nGallery and the author released it as open source, which means I can (and have) tweaked the code. If you spend any time looking at this you'll notice it's sssllloooowwww. My first goal is to optimize the thumbnail creation/caching procedure, then add MySQL support (currently only works with XML and MS SQL). The nice thing about open source is that there are most likely already a dozen or so people working on these changes.

Be the coolest Photo Album ever, if it was faster. No reason why it should be going that slow.

Perhaps for these comments, when you click the Submit button, when it says "your comment has successfully been entered" you should put a 3 sec delay redirect in there, less clicks the better!

Perhaps you should use Gallery, which nGallery apparently ripped much functionatlity from.

That would be the legend that is bdowney. Everybody has Gallery and I wanted to be different. I wasn't patient enough to be unique, just different.
