BlogJust before Christmas last year, an
article came out on PCWorld that linked to my website (39. Play, Inc. Snappy Video Snapshot). After getting almost 1,000 clickthroughs from that article I decided to plaster my site with "Ads by Google" in an attempt to cash in on it. Six months later I am able to confirm that idea was just short of a flop, but it helped me get close to the $100 minimum to get a check mailed to my house. I know you're dying to know what you can possibly do to help me get my $100 check that you won't see a penny of, so I'll tell you: just click some ads on my site! As a reward, I'll scan in my check so you can print it out and cash one of your own.
Lisa had an urge to make food for 25 people today so we decided to
have a BBQ. I had only invited 20 people, and despite reminding her only half of those invited would show up she was physically unable to shop for only 10 people. I think fate intended her to be a famous chef, but the
Miracle of Life movie threw her off track. The plus side is I now have food for a week, and everyone left with a full stomach.
Jaird's recent purchase of a
GS500F motorcycle had him itching for a ride, so today we decided to ride to Milford and help the FBI
digup Jimmy Hoffa. Arriving at the meetup point Jaird took a photo that proves without a doubt just how
gay I look on my new motorcycle. A
few stops later and we were on our way to Milford. Having never been there before, and discovering the "Hoffa this way" signs did not exist, we never actually found the dig site, but it was still a nice night for a ride. Empty handed, we parted ways with no more information on where Jimmy Hoffa's remains are than we had before.
I'm working from home for the next two months since my office ran out of cubes. Those of you planning on stealing my motorcycle will have to wait until I'm on a more predictable schedule again. For everyone else, I'll be out on my porch with my laptop and no shoes if you need me.
Free lodging at a friend of Lisa's lured me into yet another annual Florida vacation. Her friend lives in West Palm Beach so for the first time ever the greater Whorlando area was not my destination. Melanie joined us on our Florida Express Adventure enabling us to switch drivers enough to make it in a straight, 18 hour drive. Upon arriving we set our plan of
beach during the day / bars during the night into motion. We also took some time to
head to Key West since none of us had ever been. Five hours later we decided 35MPH is entirely too slow for a 120 mile trip along the keys. Tall trees blocking the ocean along most of the route didn't help either. Nevertheless, we made it and
got proof we'd been to Key West. Suddenly I realized I was on vacation with 3 hot women so we quickly reserved a room where I proceeded to have my way with them, both individually, and collectively. Afterwards we returned to West Palm Beach for a short rest before another straight 18 hour drive back to Michigan.
There was a power outage today at 5:56pm, after which the battery backup lasted for 35 minutes before shutting the server down at 6:31pm. Almost 5.5 hours later at 11:51pm power was finally restored. Source point to another famous Michigan downpour that happned just prior to the outage.
The idea of a LAN party in my barn continues to be unrealized due to 40 degree weather and heavy rain today. We opted for a dryer and warmer environment in the usual place instead. Not many
photos this time, but the ever popular
LAN Video turned out as entertaining as ever.
From 1:07pm through 2:42pm today this server was offline. Initially suspecting a power outage I found that the
webcam and
weather station had both continued recording through the outage. According to
Brighthouse the outage was caused by my cable modem "experiencing issues with the cable network. Subscribers in the affected area(s) may experience a loss of connectivity, usually indicated by flashing modem lights and/or a loss of video service." So that cleared it up for me.
A recent conversation with
Enorym brought this question up. Only
the public knows the real answer.

Today was the season opener of
Detroit SCCA Solo racing. Having recently upgraded my
Cougar with a limited slip differential and a sweet suspension setup I was excited to see what the difference would be. I quickly learned the 80% driver 20% car rule was still in full effect, as my car was more than willing to go where I told it, but I didn't always tell it the right place to be. Despite my lack of experience, the car was decidedly more stable in the slaloms and sharp turns, and I was actually able to accelerate out of turns rather than perform one-wheel-wonder shows. Fortunately Lisa showed up for my fourth run and told me she only dated men who could win their respective SCCA Solo class, which resulted in my best run of the day. It's unclear if Lisa will leave me or not as results have not yet been posted, but I feel like I have a solid fighting chance. I might be able to convince her to give me the rest of the year if I didn't win this time, but her passion for dating only the best is a great motivator.
