BlogAfter selling my
Suzuki Katana 600 last winter due to
frequent breakdowns and no-starts (despite my best efforts at cleaning every internal component on the bike) I decided it was again time to own a two-wheeled motorized form of transportation. Since I never tapped into the full potential of my 600 I decided to go cheap and get a 250 engine despite 90% of the people I associate with telling me 250 is nowhere near enough power. The
Kawasaki Ninja 250R retails for $2999 and from reviews is the only 250 considered "quick." I found a used 2004 model for $2200 and was expecting the bike to crawl along at semi-truck acceleration during the test drive. I was surprised to find it pulling pretty hard at 7,000RPM and higher, more than sufficient to get me ahead of any traffic around me. Having proven to myself it was enough power I bought it with cold hard cash.
