Excited to see how my "standards compliant" website looked in Internet Explorer 8, I promptly downloaded it only to discover the new "standards enlightened" browser rendered my navigation menu similar to how I render things into the toilet. Looks like I have to take some of the blame though, since it passed the acid test with flying colors. Rendering aside, the new web slice feature looks promising, sort of like RSS feeds on steroids. Activities kind of freak me out, but I'm sure I'll come 'round to them as well in the end. Needless to say I'll be obsessing over both until I get at least one of each up and running.

Although I’m a IE fanboy and still like it more than Firefox, I think M$ did make a mistake with IE7 which made a lot of people jump ship to Mozilla. Because IE8 is beta it should be a separate install and not overwrite IE7 so you can actually test it. and isn't IE7 only 1 year old? I remember IE6 lasted at least 5 years so is M$ admitting a mistake?

So, and don't take this the wrong way, when will your site stop looking like shit?

IE8 screws a few of my sites, as well, including my primary site. Oh well, time to fix the misc bugs finally, I guess...

When we arrive to California I’m throwing your iPhone over the Golden gate iBridge, into the iWater!

IE8 doesn't break sites. Non-compliant markup does. Web Standards will free us all.

iDon't care about iPhone. IHope it crashes into a unrecoverable iState.

No, its not my HTML, its IE8 dammit. LOL. Well, more properly its IE6 that's breaking IE8 -- since I had to add custom crap to make IE6 work and those fixes are screwing IE8... I'll get it figured out, but until then they're stuck with an extra whitespace on my main site.

I know you all were worried about DetroitArchive and just to inform everyone DetroitArchive is IE8 compatible. Good old fashioned asp and 2004 design still holding strong four years later. On a totally unrelated note if you need a website hire me I’m the only official IE8 designer in these parts.
