 Formula Karting - Round 2
I know when we were there a few of us talked about having another meet, but this time renting out the place. I think it worked out to needing like 15 people and $80 a person or something like that and we would get the place from like 10/11 until 2pm.
Now, Allthough $80 sounds like alot of $$, like 10 of the people there last time spent $60 on like 40 laps. I worked out their prices and basically it's like $1.32 a lap and your slowest lap time is 45 seconds. Taking that into consideration, in 4 hours if you ran non-stop, you'd get like 180 laps in. So is it worth it....VERY MUCH SO.
Now, before we try bookig anything, who would SERIOUSLY be interested in doing this? People that come to mind are...
1) Mike
2) Iceotron (Carl)
3) Hamill (Dan)
4) Mavrickflyer (Mark)
5) Muskokn (Eric)
6) Timeless420 (Evan)
7) cawong11 (Chris)
Potential female participants...
1) Carls1bitch (Cheryl)
2) Shadowcat (Christina)
3) Christine
anyone else SERIOUSLY interested?
I'm thinking mid-late November on this one (just not the weekend you are all going away).

I'd be down.
I'm gonna send an email to Formula Kartways and get some pricing. I'll let you all know what they say.

I'd go for that.
And the more people that come the cheaper it would be.
What is the max number of people on the track 14?
PS: I call dibs on car #19

I don't think they'll let us have 14 cars at once, but even if we ran like bracket racing....7 people for 25 laps, alternate to next 7 at 25 laps.
Then break it down....
Top 7 fastest race against each other, then slower 7 for 25 laps.
then mix it up guys vs girls, teams 3 on 3, fastest team to finish. etc...it could be fun :)

Thats cool, as long as the same person doesn't hog the fastest karts every race. The first 20 laps I did, I was ready to come off after 5 laps and change karts.

Well, they got back to me quicker than I thought.
Heres what he said:
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your inquiry! The following information should get us started in planning your event.
A summary of your email as follows, we are expecting approximately 15 - 20 participants on a Saturday morning, track times start at 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Only the Road Track will be utilized for your feature event. Each participant will complete 20 laps of practice and qualifying, the Race Director will set the grid according to each Drivers' best qualifying time. This will be followed by 2X 25 lap races, the top three Drivers' with the most accumulative points will be presented with 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies.
Cost per participant is $85.00 + GST (based on a minimum 11)
Please contact me directly at (905) 459 - 1073 ext.39 should you require further assistance.
Michael Salmon Events Manager
From what I gather we would get 20 practice/qualifying laps and 2 25 lap races for $85+tax.
So, now we need to decide if thats what we want to do.

so 70 laps for $85...that's $0.92 a lap....better than $1.32 we were paying.
We also have a shot at trophies
What if we get 20? Their prices were based on 11 people right[Q] Cost per participant is $85.00 + GST (based on a minimum 11) [/q]

Lets see if we can get 11 together first. If we can get more, then i'll email him back and ask for further discounts.
Remember, we need CONFIRMED attendees. None of this, "yeah, i'll be there", then you dont show up bull$%&#. We're gonna be on the hook for money if people don't show up. So if you say you're gonna be there, you better be there.
Mike

Not likely. These are the best karts around. So if you want to, "show us how to race", its gotta be there. (I love this emoticon!)

I was thinking of turning my Mustang into a solo 1 car but I would be in the highest catagory, and those guys are professionals.

I can't give a firm yes to this one...Due to my current employment (or lack of) situation, I kinda wanna keep my costs as little as possible now. But if anything changes, I'm all over it!
