as a side note I was in need of speaking with you Jason. I think my Alt. might be finally killing itself, you happen to have an extra around that I coudl borrow for a few to send in for a rebuild so maybe I can get it back before the other is completely dead.

I love how the board is up, but all posts aren't available. So now there's people posting new posts while he's migrating, that's going to make for a FUN database cleanup! lol...

Wonder how long it will take? I'm trying to get the SVT Lite stuff together in time for Jaged's meet on the 26th...
Anyone remember which cable I need if I have a 99 MTX? I can't remember if it was an ATX cruise control cable to be used for the throttle, or an ATX throttle cable to be used as the cruise control...or something else. Heh.

The thing is, none of us who posted had any idea that it was still in the middle of being transferred. I thought the forums were back up too, it wasn't until I started seeing all kinds of stuff missing that I realized what was going on. Hopefully this won't turn into a weeks-long deal like the "Great Outage of 2005" was, when Trevor moved back to the NewCougar.org domain and dropped the fastcougar.com domain.

Yeah but it was worth it in the end. It'll get fixed, no worries.

You need an ATX throttle cable for MTX SVT lite. You need an MTX cruise cable for ATX SVT lite.

 Yey! Job and SPL...
Woo! Got my written offer letter today from Fathead. :D So when I get home I'm sending out my resignation letter for this place, and should be starting work with Brad on the 21st... Better pay, better benefits, better time-off, better team, better job...
Oh, and on another note, Brad got to go for a ride in the Yukon the other day and hear the new SPL setup. ;) Of course I can only handle the volume on 40 before it gets very painful, so I need to get to a deserted lot someplace where I can SPL test this monster... I ended up sticking with the single amp, its plenty. I also am rigging up a switch for "test mode" so I can idle at 1100-1200 rpm instead of 500 rpm, otherwise I use more voltage than the alt puts out. (It's fine at 1000+ rpm, tho...)

John...not to sound like a pain, but whatever did happen to the $50 of mine in the Cougar body HPI group buy. I'm kinda hard up for cash right now and wouldn't mind tracking that down.

I never did get any money from Mark - but as I said I'll repay those people that want it, or we can take it off from CF registration, etc. Just drop me a PM with yer addr and I'll get you a MO out as soon as I can...

Thanks John....I was really hopeing to get the cash back from him...not you. He took it, he should return it.
I would put it towards CF, but with the cash flow in my household right now I'm 80% sure I'm not going to be able to go. Our bills add up to just about $2000 a month (water, gas, morgage, insurance, phone, cell phones etc etc) + food for Madison, clothes for her (friggin kids growing FAST...allready into 1 year old clothes and only 7.5 months old) etc and the monthly income is only about $2400...hence why I wanna get rid of the SVT stuff lol. Once the girlfriend gets back to work it will be fine, but I want to get cash to put AC in the house for this summer...and that ain't cheap haha

yeah, I saw your post on CEG....are you sure it's the rad and not a kinked hose or shitty sensor somewhere? Seems odd that it would overheat that easily. I've seen a contour with a V6 run on allmost 0 rad fluid for allmost a week before it finally gave up.

from what I read and people talking on CEG I don't think it is the rad. The thing ran fine wihtout the temp poping up once the rest of the drive home after getting some fresh water in it. I will have to check it out tomorrow afternoon a bunch and see if I can locate any problem. Maybe the fan relay didn't kick on or somethign stupid like that.

I had an issue like that before, myself. Found out I had overlooked hooking up the fan's ground wire, and they weren't kicking on. Just another thing to check -- and an easy fix too if that's it...

Well I am gunna venture a guess that my fans aren't kicking on. I just parked it during lunch and sat in Diag mode and watched the temp. Anyone know what temp the fans ares suppsoed to kick on at? I got to 230 then decided it was time to be done with lunch and came inside and at that point the fans were still not on. So I guess I get it home carefully tongiht and then try and find what isn't connected with theos fans.

Gotta be a power or ground issue then, probably easy to fix. The fan ground wire is easy to miss, once disconnected it falls down next to the battery and is easy to overlook.

Hoping it is just the ground. I probably missed putting it together when i pulled everything apart for the CAI install. So I will have to check it all out tonight. I haven't been in traffic with that car till last night since it hit the road again so it has probably not been running since I put the new engine in.

Hrm...random thought. Can I still use the stock Cougar airbox with the SVT UIM/TB/etc? I'll have the accordion piece from the SVT that would normally go to its airbox as well, if that helps. I recognize it'll be a bit restricted compared to, say, a short ram...but mostly I need to know if I'll be able to drive it with the stock airbox until I can get a SRI.

Yes you can, it's like having a stock SVT intake :)

Well, I noticed the stock SVT intake was a cone-type with a different housing. I didn't know whether the fitting was substantially different. :)
Thanks.

Ding ding we have a winnner. After driving home with it being 85 today with the heat on full blast to sink off some of the heat and turning the car off at some lights if I was going to be sitting forawhile and it was on the hotter side I came home and pulled the battery and such and found the ground bolt was stripped and the ground was loose on it. So I switch the ground to a different bolt and turned the car on with the AC on and the fans kicked right on. I will likely do an oil change and coolant flush this weekend to get rid of the stuff that got heated way to hot yesterday but other than that all is good.

LOL, don't gimme too much credit. I can only diag what I've either seen personally or can make an educated guess at. ;) Since I missed the ground when reloc'ing the battery, I had an idea, hehe...
