SORRY I'VE BEEN BUSY (please read and tell me what u think)
hey sorry i've been busy.. i have work, high school, college, jazz band, and i bowl 5 times a week for my varsity bowling team at my school.. lol anywaysss hows everyone been doin.. my cougars been havin a litttle problem lately.... a while ago.. my battery light was blinking and such and i took it in. and they said everything was fine.. and then a few weeks ago.. my car died ont he side of the road finally.. and i took the battery in.. and they said the battery wasnt charging.. so i bought a new one.. and i put that in.. and my light was still blinking so i took it to the dealership.. they said its a great battery now but the alternator is dead.. (i had also got it replaced last january) so they fixed that for free and i got it the next day.. and i go down the road a lil and the light goes on again.. and so i try to go back the next day and the car dies again.. and so i took the battery in again and they said its the battery wouldnt charge so they exchanged it with a different one for free and then i get to the dealership and they test it.. and they said its a bad alternator again.. and so they put a new one in and they take it for a test drive and the light goes on for them and once again they blew another alternator.. and so finally they decided to put a new connector thing or somethin on the back of the alternator.. and this worked.. and so i take it home and the next day my check engine light came on and so i took it in and they just said it was the sensor to the air intake ... my aftermarket one did not secure right so i put some puddy on it and i thought i had it good but turns out it was just that and so i just sealed it better and it hasnt come back on after that.. and then last week my car wouldnt start.. it would crank but it just wasnt firing up so i got it towed to the dealership and they couldnt check it right then so my dad went to work for fords and picked some things up.. and he saw that ford had given older year cougars an extended warrenty (10 years) on the FDM and so they just tried that and it happend to work.. and so i get it back.. and it worked for a whole week perfectly... and then friday morning it died again i went to leave for high school and it wasnt cranking ticking or anything at all.. and i tried my jump starter i have in my trunk and that made it tick but no fire.. so my dad got home later.. and we actually jumped it with his van and it started and sounded fine.. and i turned it off and back on a few times and it worked perfectly and then a couple hours later i went back out there and it was completely dead agian with no power.... so my dad just charged it with a battery charger we happend to have.. and i took it to work today.. and it sounded fine.. and right now... i'm chargin the battery again just in case.. possibly a bad alternator again?.. just battery not working 100% good cause its cold out.. what do u guys think??? lol
thnx

well i've been goin to taylor ford.. cause thats where my alternator went bad last year in january so it was the closest dealer and i had a warrenty there.. anddd i've just kept going there and all the work they've done so far.. (even though its been goin in and out of the shop..) they have all done for free.. so.... i cant complain thats its freee lol the only thingi had to pay for was like 50 bucks for towing or somethin but my insurance covers it so basically free...

Hey, sorry to hear about all that crap man... what a raw deal.
Question for you... can you give me details about the 10 years warranty thing that your dad found out about??? My sunroof is dead and my main warranty is up and I'd like to see if I can get it fixed under warranty as I've been fighting Ford for a long time on this one.
I'd be in your debt if you found out for me!!
Thanks man. If you could give your dad my Ford CDS ID at rzlotnik and ask him if he could forward me any info, I'd REALLY appreciate it.

Severe jealousy... My 99 has plastic rails and the fuckers broke like 2.5 years ago and my roof won't close 100% so there's always a wind whistling on the highway when driving fast. I have fought and fought with the dealership and Ford customer service and so far got no where....

You've got a short someplace man... And the worst part of it, finding those things is a major PAIN. You're usually better off taking it someplace and letting them find it, since doing it on your own could take months...
